School Age Care

Before and after school care designed to support learning, build confidence, and help children thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.

Supporting Kids Beyond the School Day

School Age Child Care at the Oswego YMCA provides a safe, structured, and engaging environment for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Our program complements the school day by encouraging learning, creativity, physical activity, and character development—while giving families peace of mind before and after school.

Before School Care

A calm, supervised environment where children start their day with confidence, connection, and care before heading to school.

After School Care

A fun and enriching program that balances homework time, physical activity, and social interaction after the school day ends.

School Days Out

Full-day care offered on select school breaks and holidays, providing consistency and enrichment when school is not in session.

Homework Time

Students are given dedicated quiet time where they may complete homework assignments, spend time reading, or participate in other calm, focused activities that support academic success.

Arts & Crafts

Kids have opportunities to explore creativity through hands-on arts and crafts. Staff plan engaging projects using recycled materials and seasonal themes to encourage imagination and self-expression.

STEM Activities

Structured, hands-on STEM activities help children problem solve, develop critical thinking skills, and build self-confidence through engaging projects and guided exploration.

Healthy Eating & Activity

The YMCA follows Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) standards by providing nutritious daily snacks and encouraging healthy habits through regular physical movement each day.

Character Development

School Age Child Care programs are rooted in the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, supporting children’s physical, social, and emotional development in a safe, nurturing environment.
